Review: Optimum Care Deep Conditioning Masque

Hey ladies!
If you remember, my CurlKit from April had the Optimum Care Salon Collection Deep Conditioning Masque & I decided to finally try this out.
I thought I would share with you all how I felt about this product.
Description From Sallybeauty.com;
Instant breakage protection
Salon-quality results
Long lasting moisture
Refreshing sensation

NEW! Optimum Care Deep Conditioning Masque is a weekly intense treatment with a refreshing scalp sensation that infuses hair with Ceramide and Coconut Oil for instant breakage protection, lasting moisture, strength and shine.

Optimum Care Salon Collection features professional-quality formulas for salon results at home. Repair, reconstruct and replenish each strand with our patented Dual Strength Complex for instant breakage reduction after just one use. Endorsed by stylists. No appointment necessary.

Applied to my hair;
I left the deep conditioner on for about 30-45 minutes under a plastic shower cap.
I felt the tingling from the masque & I loved it. I love products that give a little tingle to the scalp, I feel its really going to good use.

After I rinsed the conditioner out, I used the V05 Moisture Milks Passion Fruit Smoothie Shampoo, then applied my Organix Hydrating Macadamia Oil Conditioner. This shampoo has been very unloved by me, so I decided to use it. The conditioner was a recent "steal" from my sister. :P

After washing & T-shirt drying for about 30 minutes;

Pros;
Affordable. - $1.69 on Sally`s website & $1.49 with a Sally`s Beauty Club Card
Great Tingling Sensation to the Scalp.
Nice Thick Consistency, Which I Love.

Cons;
VERY Strong Peppermint Smell.
I Feel This DC Dried Out My Hair.

Final Thoughts;
I thought this was going to be something I would consider re-purchasing, however, that will not be the case. The consistency was great, I love using thick products on my hair versus runny, watery products. After I washed this out of my hair, my hair felt very dry. The Organix conditioner helped a bit, but even after allowing my hair to dry, it just felt so brittle. This product claims it is provide "long lasting moisture" & I definitely do not agree. Personally I would not re-purchase this item. Ever.

FOTD; Do You Lilac?

Howdy!
Today I re-created a look I`ve been wanting to do for a while.
I was inspired by a tutorial Rai put up on her Youtube last month.
She titled the tutorial Do You Lilac?
I had just found the new Wet `n Wild Flora & Fauna sets & felt inspired to try this look.
For this look I used the Fauna trio.
The blue/teal shade isn`t as vibrant an me as I was hoping it would be.
It may look better under a white or teal base or eyeliner.

Eye Close-Up;

What I Used:
Eyes;
Almay Base.
MAC Texture.[Crease]
Wet `n Wild Fauna trio.
Avon Super Extend Liquid Eyeliner.
Sephora Advanced Lash Booster Mascara.

Lips;
NYX Miami Babe gloss.
Rimmel London Kate 14.

Face;
Milani Corallina Blush.[Very light]
ELF Gotta Glow Blush.[Cheek highlight]

I hope you guys enjoyed this look!

Summer`s Highlight;*

Hey ladies!
Firstly, welcome to all my new readers!
We are almost at 200! Yay!
I wanted to share my current favorite hightlighters for Summer.
I`ve had a few of these for a while & some are newer to my collection.
I thought I would share my favorites & swatches of each.

First up is the newest to my collection.
I found this a few days ago at Big Lots for $3!
This is the Philosophy luminizer.
It is absolutely amazing!
It gives the most perfect glow to my cheeks.
& For only $3, such an amazing steal!

Next up we have Wet `n Wild`s Reserve Your Cabana.
According to Wet `n Wild, this is actually a bronzer.
I saw Rai use this as a highlighter in a tutorial & it had me intrigued.
I thought it would look ashy on me, however I was completely wrong.
It`s perfect!
This was less than $5, a great deal!

Next is probably my all-time favorite highlighter.
This is MAC`s Mineralize Skin Finish in Redhead.
I bought this from a blog sale for $20 & it was barely used!
I love using this to highlight not only my cheeks, but also under my brows.
This is limited edition product, but hopefully you ladies can find a way to get your hands on this.
[From the Salmon shade to the Beige shade.
Bottom is all swatched together.]

My next selection is actually an eyeshadow.
Sephora`s Peach Eyeshadow.
I received this in a grab bag & thought it was perfect for my tear duct.
I mistakenly forgot to bring a hightlighter with me, so I decided to take a risk.
Definitely worth it!
This shadow makes an amazing highlight on the cheeks!
I`m not sure of the price of this or if the shadow is LE or not.

Lastly is my first ever highlighter.
ELF`s Blush in Gotta Glow.
This is my second favorite highlight to use.
It gives off a nice golden sheen.
Perfect for Summer!
Also only $3, or $1.50 if you catch an ELF sale!

I hope that you guys enjoyed this post.
What are some of your favorite highlighters for the Summer?

What`s In My Travel Bag?

Hey ladies.
I recently went on a little road trip[Arkansas & Missouri] & normally I take almost my whole makeup collection. Lol.
Luckily, this trip I narrowed it down quite a bit.
I`m going to be doing a TON of traveling this summer, so I thought I`d show you guys what was in my makeup bag this trip.

Face;
MAC MSF in Redhead. This has a gradient of colors from beige to salmon. Super gorgeous. This has to be my all-time favorite highlighter! NYC Cheek Glow in Chelsea Coral. This is a gorgeous coral blush. Black Radiance Artisan Color Baked Blush in Warm Berry. This is a lovely red toned berry blush. I apply this lightly & blend, blend, blend.

Lips;
MAC Kissable Lip Color in Temper Tantra. This goes with me everywhere! I absolutely cannot get enough of this color. Revlon`s Super Lustrous Lipstick in Mink. Perfect nude for me. ELF Glossy Gloss in Wild Watermelon. I wanted to take a lips product with me that provided a little color to my lips. This gave me a nice, pink, & glossy lip.

Eyes;
Wet `n Wild Vanity Palette. I think all ladies should own this. Perfect for a neutral everyday eye look. Exactly was I was going for on this trip. Annabelle VolumeLash.Com mascara. You guys don`t understand how amazing this mascara is! It give my lashes just the right amount of volume & no clumping. Almay Bright Eyes Base/Concealer. Of course you need a shadow base for your eyeshadows! This is the only eye base I have found so far that keeps my shadows in line for at least 5 hours. Love it! NYX Eyeliner in Purple. I bring this with me for just a pop of color on the eyes. Sephora Liquid Liner in Black. This is the best liquid eyeliner I have ever in my life used. Goes on so smoothly. Definitely need to repurchase.
*Not Pictured, Rosebud Salve lip balm. This has to go with me EVERYWHERE.
No chapped lips here. Lol.

I know we all have beauty products we have to have with us on trips!
What are some of you ladies must haves for a trip or vacation?

Hope you guys enjoyed this post.
Thanks so much for reading & supporting my blog!

Fab Finds; Philosophy*

Hey guys!
Today I have a very exciting post!
A few days ago Rai tweeted about Big Lots getting Philosophy for only $3.
She tweeted me Nouveau Cheap`s blog post with a list of products spotted.
I was out running an errand & figured I`d pop by a local Big Lots.
I hunted ALL OVER this store & found them right as I was heading to check out! :D
I was hoping for body products or skincare, but I only found makeup today.
I am very pleased with what I found!

I picked up the color of grace eyelighting shadow duo, the supernatural lit from within cream blush, & the supernatural windows to the soul eyeshadow palette.

The packaging is SUPER cute & sleek!

Here is the eyelighting shadow duo in Heaven/Earth & the blush in Look On the Bright Side.

Swatched below;
& as you can see Earth will be a nice nude shade for me.
The blush isn`t as ashy/light as it looks in this photo.
It would be perfect under NYX`s powder blush in Pinky!

Plum Delicious;
The shadows are soooo smooth!

Swatched;

Here was the display.
It was near the snacks section by the checkout lanes.
[Sorry for the quality of the photo, I took it with my phone. :/]

[Going off memory] They had blushes[not sure if they were all the same shade or not], face powders, face illuminator, 2 eyeshadow palettes, the duo, & possibly more. I will be checking another Big Lots to see if there is more variety. Stop by your local Big Lots to check out these amazing products if you haven`t yet! For only $3 you CAN`T beat these deals!

Have you guys spotted this Fab Find at Big Lots yet?

Hope you guys enjoyed this post.
Thanks for reading.

CurlKit;*

Hey guys!
Here is my long delayed CurlKit post.
Curl Kit is basically a monthly subscription box with hair samples.
I ordered in March & it came in April.
I only paid $17 with a coupon code, however, the regular price is $20.

What was in my April CurlKit?
Jane Carter Set; Included Nourishing Moisture Shampoo, Revitalizing Leave-In Conditioner, & the Nourish & Shine. Excited to try!
Guava Mango Body Butter & Shea n Olive Hair Butters from Pookah. It looked like someone touched my hair butter, when I opened it I discovered a finger print inside. :/ Not too happy about getting the body butter either. I signed up for this to get hair related products only.
Sofn'free Nothing But Curly Pudding & Cleansing Conditioner packets. Haven`t heard of this brand, so I can`t wait to try.
Optimum Care Salon Collection Deep Conditioning Masque. I love deep conditioners, so I`m anxious to try this. I believe this was my full-size product for my April box.
Annie Vita Comb with Olive Oul & Wheat Germ. I`ve seen this comb in my local beauty supply store, but never grabbed it. Great chance to try it.

That`s all for this CurlKit. One shipping issue that I did have is that they provided me with someone else's tracking number. I tweeted them & they were able to help me by getting my correct tracking info. My May kit should be arriving soon. I believe they said it is the biggest one yet & weighs 3 lbs. So I cannot wait! That will be my last box for a while though. I`m saving up, so I will be cancelling my subscription for now.

Have you ladies tried CurlKit or any of these products yet?
Thoughts?

Thanks for reading!

Milani Prize;

Hello ladies!
Today I`m sharing with you my Milani MVP Prize that I won in March.
I did not receive these until April, so I finally decided to share them.
I was sent 3 of their new Milani Runway Eyeshadows.
At least I believe they said these were new.

I was sent Golden Touch, Antigua, & Peaches and Cream.
Swatches;
Dry  vs Wet.
[T to B;]
Peaches and Cream, Antigua, & Golden Touch.
[Sorry for the quality of the wet photo.]

My thoughts;
I tend to skip by Milani a lot at the drugstores. Especially these eyeshadows. I`m not a huge fan of the baked or mineralized shadows. These were definitely interesting to me. They give a nice, subtle color. Great to sweep across the lid. Using them wet makes them a bit more vibrant, but they still are very sheer. When I swatched these, I saw why I tend to pass these by in the store. The opacity is not good & you have to REALLY build the color up. Even while using them wet. My favorite of the bunch is Antigua. Such a gorgeous green shade with golden shimmer. Golden Touch & Peaches and Cream would be nice for the inner tear duct or even to highlight a bit.

Do I think they are worth taking a risk on?
Personally, no. I would not buy these & probably will continue not to if I see them in store.

Have you ladies tried these shadows out?
Thoughts?

Thanks so much for reading!
